Are ALL Plans Now ACA Compliant?
All Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum plans are ACA compliant for applicants over the age of 30.  Applicants under the age of 30 may purchase a Castrophic, Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum plan.  Catastrophic plans are priced lower than Bronze plans, and are intended to be an incentive for the "young and invincible" market to purchase health insurance.  People with "hardship exemptions" may also purchase a catastrophic plan.  Please contact us if you wish to apply for a "hardship exemption".  We can point you in the right direction.  Be careful.  The various different carrier websites will provide quotes for "Catastrophic" plans, even for people 30 and over.  If you are 30 and over, do not have a hardship exemption, and purchase a catastrophic plan, you will be required to pay a tax penalty for non-compliance.

When Will My Coverage Begin?
Coverage generally begins first of month following date of enrollment provided the application is completed by the 15th of the month prior during the open enrollment season.  However, for special enrollments due to life changing events, some carriers will allow you to apply up until the last day of the month.  For life changing events, there is a 60 day grace period to turn in an application outside of the Exchange.  With Connect for Health CO, life changing events must be reported within 30 days.
